POWER OF SPORTS
In 2016, Group1001 CEO Dan Towriss met Fields & Futures founder Tim McLaughlin and heard firsthand about the work taking place in Oklahoma City to grow student participation in sports, to help put more young students on a proven path to graduation - empowered and equipped with life skills to help realize their full potential.
When asked what inspired him to get involved with Fields & Futures, Dan quickly replied, "I believe youth sports and education are one of the few remaining ways we have to reach at-risk youth for lasting social change." That simple but profound statement laid the foundation for the creation of Power of Sports, a content platform to advocate for that belief and showcase the great work being done by organizations across the country to give more kids the opportunities they deserve.
As the development arm of Fields & Futures, Brand Talkers was contracted by Group1001 in 2017 to work with Horrow Sports Ventures and others to build the platform and provide campaign oversight. Today, Power of Sports is anchored around a 30-minute television show that airs monthly on Fox Sports Southwest and other Fox Sports regional networks across the country, with focused social media support (@PowerofSportsTV).
